Happy new year!

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 10, 2011, 6:01 AM

Portfolio update

Ahoi, a happy new year to you!
I had taken a few days off from here, the twitterverse, and other places, the redesign of my portfolio site fantasio.info v 8.0 is in the final phase and will be finished hopefully in a few weeks.

I had also thought about uploading my commercial works here, (hence the poll a month ago) but I still hesitate, since deviantArt always was a source for feedback and inspiration to me, which always helped me to progress in my artworks. And so my personal work is never finished, after some constructive feedback I have that itch to do better or go back to that piece and change something. I´m afraid that this isn´t possible with most published artworks, as they were done, approved and that was it. The other problem is that some illustrations only work well with the typo and cover elements, which is most ften done by others. Its possible that I will decide otherwise for some selected picks...we will see.

However, if you want to see some of my published works, here you will find a very good overview, this portfolio site is not my new website, but the design direction is where the new site is going too: [link]

Oliver, that's definitely a great portfolio design, and right now I'm feeling completely envious of how it works :D

Besides that, happy new year mate, I hope the best for you! :D

Hi Mario, thanks. Well, its actually a site from [link] and not the actual domain, but their service is really nice for "just image portfolios".
I followed your suggestions and built the complete new site out of wordpress, its a lot to do, since the site should be something that covers all informations about my work, without looking too blown up - thats the challenge;-)
As there are still a few things to do I will soon send out an invitation to a few web-savvy friends to have a look at it in advance. So if you want I send you the link too.

All the best in 2011!

Good to hear... I am planning to redesign mine... I'm bored of such a... "boring" design... not very attractive for anyone. I think of returning to dividing the site into two microsites, a portfolio and a blog, so customers can go directly to what they want and the rest of people can read the blog.
Of curse mate, I'll be glad to take a look and throw in some advice if you need it! :highfive:
