This will not going to be an in-depth documentation, but as far as this year as a freelance illustrator goes, i can say its definitly what i ever wanted to do and i´m very glad that i did that step (nevermind i´d say this someday) !

I´d like to thank those 10 percent of my nearly 2800 watchers that are still alive and supporting me actively, especially those 1 percent that helps me with critique and viral feedback.

Sure thing is that pageviews and watchers / followers alone don´t make an artist popular or successful, and i´d rather be varied and surprise with "for me" uncommonly submissions, than to stick on a topic to dA -popularity until i can´t see it anymore - maybe its easier with milions of pageviews, albeit that also has downsides such as arttheft for example...

I often see deviantArt as a "reallife reflection" of a virtual art market situation, and it can help to better your social behaviour and marketing stratgies, but after all: its all about personality, happy accidents and originality.

Not sure if that whole vibes about the supergroups is good, as groups always have caused some elitist behaviour in some communities...
I hope this will not develop to some sport now where the new group system is implemented.

Well, for the good news i´ve joined a group called #dAgnostic
that has the intention to feature artists new or overlooked on dA but with talent.

So on dA its easy to grow in pageviews if you keep posting and faving, but often talented people have not the time to do the marketing work, i think thats where a feature is due.

If you know of some purely gems with only a few (under 20k pageviews) then let me know.

Finally some portfolios to be prepared and in less than 6 days the bookfair starts.

My shedule is nicely packed, which is good so its not a hassle - i hope to find the time going through the comic -area and for a coffee!

Its still a tragedy, the insurance company payed only half of the amount that a collector has had to pay - what the heck do they think they are?
Does damaging an artwork just makes it worth less, especially for the one who damaged it?
This is a weird society, i can tell you...

We´ll go in court.

Yesterday i bought the seasonal ticket for the bookfair, my shedule isn´t completely full -so if anyone is also there -a deviant meeting would be a nice addition to the event.

Since about a few month now i´ve disabled pageviews for my dA -browsing experience -and what can i say -its gorgeous!
I can focus on the important things and it´s honestly a good experience -the best dA has to offer!
The arguable downside is; that i tend to categorize others by their amount of favorites

Its about time:
Also there are so many things i have to thank dA and the community in general: from all artist communities (and i was almost everywhere) is dA the one where i have the most contacts and personally important relationships -be it inspiration, contacts, comments, feedback in general, collaboration possibilities, dAportfolios or the printstore - and of course the technical improvements every now and then that makes the networking even easier- its no place in the www - that could replace this significance to me.

All dA Staff and volunteers -your work is appreciated a lot!
