original title: "mileena the beautiful headhuntress and her magic violin"
i think i don´t need to tell a story here, let the image speak instead my second contribution to the current raster release: RASTER chaper 42( [link] ) this one was actually intended to be my "diplomawork reference", but finally just worked out digitally, i had no clue wether i should paint the whole piece on canvas or airbrushboard, i decided to leave it the way it is... i just have finalized it in painter, to get a more painterly feel to it. but i have put the material together i had done for the diplomawork in a short overview-article on my homepage: [link] inspired by work from : ~immanuel and ~Kaduflyer (visit his homepage for more great stuff) [link] hope you like, comments are welcome... cu, fant Comments
neat. char reminds me of a Brom painting. one of my favs.
-- "...how many of you who sit and judge me have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?" - homer joy "They're not socks." Fieldy ~CrittersClub This is really fantastic, but in my own opinion the Miller Draft ad on the wall totally disrupts the fantasy/sci-fi feeling. A beer ad would be fitting there as part of an urban landscape, but the fact that it's a known modern brand kills the suspension-of-belief.
-- "If you hold your dreams too tightly, you'll crush their little ribs." ~We Are Scientists the details and use of colors are amazing. I love the faded signs in the background and the expression on Mileena's face.
-- "What has it got to do with the story? Where is this place? Why emus?" ~Tolkien on a cover painting for The Hobbit Like fantasy art/writing/anything? Come join us at ~Wonderland-Club! |

The little golem guys texture is very nice as well, but there seems to be a somewhat conflicting lightsource. The golem's head and facial features cast a shadow nearly straight down. while the girl, the golem's foot, and his arm cast shadows out to the left more.
Another thing I noticed was that the angle of the wall/ground is not completely horizontal, yet the girl is standing straight vertically.
Other than just these tiny things that I noticed, this is a very stunning piece, and you did a magnificent job on the textures and the violin.
