One of those days,i couldn´t remember when it was, but i knew only that gravity was going to take a lunch break, for a few minutes...
hmmm, that cat was also eating a cow, didn´t see such things often ,but nowadays, where vegetables and machines are flying around in the matrix ...quite everything is possible...

acrylics and tempera on canvas

Hello Fantasio,

I think this is one of my favorite pieces I've come across since I've been surfing deviant.

Great work!

well, this is so similar to a certain dave mckean Cages cover that it seems to me it'd be polite to mention any extremely heavy influence in your descrip. to avoid the false credit malarky :p

nice, i love abstract stuff, cool font too, keep it up.

This thing..
It's like I've seen this thing before..
The title is very picasso-looking, but I don't think that's it.
Can I have seen it before somewhere?

Btw, it makes a very good poster, colors, texture and composition all come together beautifully, and I also like the idea behind it. But I can't free myself from the thought that I've seen it before...
fantasio Featured By Owner Jul 2, 2004  Professional Digital Artist
thanks for the comment, and i have to admit, that i have this one in some also in some other galleries, like : epiloge,zazzle,etc...
maybe there from;-)
or someone has ripped it, and called its own, would be quite nice, if you remember if that was the case, because this one is a traditional painting on canvas, and definitly my own work...
emmcreations Featured By Owner Jul 2, 2004
hmm.. could be like you say zazzle... or something.
Or maybe it is just the fact that the way you placed your type at the bottom seems so familiar.. Honestly, I don't have a clue. I get this postershop in Copenhagen popping into my head, but I haven't been there for years, so I don't know. - anyway, point is: I like it. lol.

Wow...reminds me a dave Mckean (ok, I stop talking about that ^^;)...

Excellent composition...
fantasio Featured By Owner Mar 31, 2004  Professional Digital Artist
hehe, indeed, im alot studying him, youve observed that quite right, but i always try to do mix traditional with digital, and achieving an own style from it is my main concern therefore...btw,
thanks for the comments...:-)

This of the most interestingly original paintings I have seen in a long time. I actually exclaimed an expletive out loud when I saw it. I think it was "holy shit!" The texture is also delicious. Bravo. :+fav: and +devwatch.

hello again,

just wanted to refer you to my friend CAm's site at [link] its worth a look.

adios amigo.

This is incredibly beautiful. The colours and textures are so rich. The idea is so strange and wonderful. The shape of the cat is perfect, the features of the face are so beautiful, the texture of the avocado is great!

Unfortunately, I really dislike the typography. The font is horribly distracting, and way too crisp. It just doesn't match the painting. The border is, I think, unnecessarily large. I want to focus just on the painting, but the stark, flat, large white border really draws my eyes away from the painting, rather than nicely finishing it off.

Aside from the border/typography, this is divine. I would love to hang this painting on my walls. (I'd love to get up close to see your brush work, but even a print would be good enough!)

thanx for your honest comment!

i might say its a question of taste, what the border of an image tells the viewer...;-)
i for myself found it very usefull to give the piece a place on a white space to extract itself, because i have hung up the original canvas with a border close to the painting, and its definitly space necessary...:O_o:
due tu the font-work, its like i´ve said before a question of taste(you can cut the border if desired)
but i thought its enough white space between the typo and the image, to be not distracting...

anyways,thanx for the critique also!

digifox Featured By Owner Dec 18, 2003
Well, you're the artist, of course. :aww: And yes, I could trim the border. But you're right about that painting needing space. I hadn't actually thought of that.

But I don't want you to walk away thinking about my dislike of the border/typo. I really, really love this painting. That's the important part of my comment. :D
fantasio Featured By Owner Dec 19, 2003  Professional Digital Artist
hey,no problem,i always love to hear constructive comments, and disliking something and explaining why ,IS constructive either;-)
and i appreciate, that you see them as two different things, the typo can only underline(maybe) but thats just the illustrational part of it,

thanks anyway...:)

Sorry for the late replay, I've been a little preoccupied lately.

Heh, unfortunately, I don't have much critique for this picture, I like it but I don't get it lol. I suppose it's a little too abstract for me, I prefer surrealism. You sure can paint though :D
Heh sorry again for the lackluster comment.
